Terms of Service
Last updated 18 September 2026
The short version
- We rewrite your CV for a specific job. You check it and you send it. Everything in it is your statement about yourself, not ours.
- The tailored CV may use the posting's language for work you have done, and may go further than your pasted CV did. We flag those lines before you download. Read them and cut anything you could not defend in an interview.
- No tool can promise you an interview, and we do not.
- Your work is saved in your browser. Clear your browser and it is gone, with no backup for us to restore. Keep your own copies.
Agreement
These terms are between you and the individual operating jobauto.io ("the Service", "we", "us"), based in the United States. Using the Service means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
Who may use it
You must be at least 16 years old, and at least 18 to buy a Pro subscription. You may use the Service only for lawful purposes, and only in a country where it is lawful to do so.
Accounts
Signing in creates an account that lives in your own browser rather than on our servers, which has a consequence worth stating plainly: anyone who can use your device can open the Service and read what is in it, including your CV and your saved applications. Please protect your device. Your account is yours alone and is not to be shared.
What the Service does, and what it cannot promise
The Service rewrites a CV and writes a cover letter aimed at a particular job posting, using AI. It is a drafting tool. It does not review your application, does not advise you on your career, and gives no legal, immigration, or employment advice.
We do not promise that using the Service will get you an interview, an offer, past an applicant tracking system, or any other outcome. Anyone who promises that is selling something. Hiring decisions belong to employers, and no wording controls them.
Tailored content, and your responsibility for it
This is the most important section here, so it is written in full.
The Service rewrites your experience in the language of the job you are applying for. Doing that well means the finished CV will not read like the one you pasted: bullets are rewritten, the posting's terms are used where they describe work you have done, and duties that ordinarily belong to a role you have held may be written out explicitly even when your pasted CV left them unsaid. This is what tailoring is, and it is what you came for.
It also means the draft can claim more than your pasted CV did. Where we can detect that, we list it under "Before you send" above your documents, and that list is there to be acted on, not dismissed.
Every draft is a draft. You are responsible for reading it and for everything you then send to an employer. Check every line against your real history. Cut anything you could not evidence, defend in an interview, or say out loud to the hiring manager. Employers, background checks, and professional bodies treat a false statement on a CV as the applicant's own, whatever tool typed it.
We are not responsible for a rejected application, a withdrawn offer, a dismissal, a disciplinary or regulatory finding, or any other consequence of something inaccurate in a document you sent. That responsibility is yours, and it cannot sensibly be anyone else's.
Some claims carry more than embarrassment. Never let a draft state a degree you do not hold, a licence, registration, or professional credential you do not have, a security clearance, an employer you did not work for, or dates you did not work. In many jobs that is fraud. The Service is instructed never to invent these, but you are the last check and the only one that counts.
Your content
Your CV and everything else you paste remain yours. You give us permission to process that text for one purpose only: producing the documents you asked for, including sending it to the AI provider that rewrites it. We claim no ownership of what you put in or what comes out, and we do not use your documents to train anything.
By pasting or uploading, you confirm the material is yours to submit. If it contains someone else's personal information, for instance a referee's contact details, you confirm you may share it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit someone else's CV or personal information as your own, or apply for work in another person's name;
- use the Service to produce a document intended to deceive an employer about who you are, what you are qualified to do, or your right to work;
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing;
- attempt to break, overload, scrape, or automate the Service, work around usage limits or payment, or use it to build a competing product;
- resell access to the Service.
Free and Pro
The free plan allows a set number of tailored documents each day, currently three. Pro removes that limit and adds AI rewriting, DOCX downloads, and the job tracker. Pro is $30 per month and renews automatically each month until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves you on Pro until the period you have paid for ends. We do not give partial refunds for time already subscribed, except where the law requires one. If the price changes, we will tell you before the renewal it applies to.
Card payments are handled by a payment processor, and we never see or store your card number.
A promo code opens Pro free for a set period, currently 90 days. It is not a subscription: no card is taken, nothing is charged, and it does not renew. When the period ends your account returns to the free plan on its own, and your saved applications are held for 60 days as described in section 10. Promo codes are ours to issue and to withdraw: they have no cash value, are not transferable, and may be limited or ended at any time, including one already applied to an account where it was obtained or used improperly.
Your data is in your browser, and it has no backup
Your profile, your saved CV, and your tracked applications are stored in your browser, as described in the Privacy Policy. There is no copy on our side, which means we cannot restore anything. Clearing your browsing data, using private browsing, switching browsers or devices, or losing the device will lose the lot. Download anything that matters to you and keep it somewhere of your own.
If you cancel Pro, your saved applications are kept in your browser for 60 days and then deleted automatically.
Availability and changes
The Service is offered as it is and as it is available. We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it, and we depend on outside AI providers, so outages and slowdowns will happen. We do not guarantee uptime. We may add, change, or remove features, including limits on the free plan.
Ending it
You may stop using the Service whenever you like and delete everything as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, particularly section 7, or where we must to comply with the law. If we end your paid subscription without cause, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
No warranties
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that output will be accurate, complete, suitable for a given employer, free of error, or uninterrupted. AI systems produce mistakes, which is why every document here is a draft for you to check.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost employment, reputational harm, or lost data, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the Service, from content you submitted, or from a document you sent to an employer, including any claim that something in it was inaccurate or misleading.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and the date at the top will change when we do. If a change is material, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operator resides, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the courts of that state. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
